BEHAVIOR MANAGEMENT SERVICES
BMS is intended for children and adolescents that present with a diagnosed behavioral health condition are at risk of out-of-home placement due to unmanageable behaviors in the home or within the community; youth that require behavioral management intervention to avoid inpatient/residential treatment. BMS services are provided with the goal of maintaining clients in their home and community through increasing youths’ ability to function effectively in their community with positive life, social, and behavioral skills. A trained BMS provider provides 1:1 services through coaching and training
Target Population
- Children (up to the age of 21 years old) that are experiencing Serious Emotional/Neurobiological/Behavioral Disorder (SED)
- Individuals with a chronic substance abuse; or
- Individuals with a co-occurring disorder (mental illness/substance abuse) and/or dually diagnosed with a primary diagnosis or mental illness
Target Population
Behavior management skills development services are delivered to clients up to age 21 that are diagnosed with a behavioral health condition and:
- Are at risk for out-home residential placement due to unmanageable behavior at home or within the community;
- Need behavior management intervention to avoid inpatient hospitalizations or residential treatment; or
- Require behavior management support following an institutional or out-of-home placement as a transition to maintain the client in her or his home and community.
