Our caring providers have many years of experience and can treat any member of your family, from newborns to grandparents and everyone in between. Our integrated services include medical, dental and behavioral health. We have eligibility services to make your care accessible and affordable. Jose Leos Flores, MD Medical Director
Jose Leos Flores, MD is our Medical Director and cares for patients at our Anthony Medical Clinic. Dr. Flores is a New Mexico native and a NMSU graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Bachelor of the Arts in Chemistry. He received his Doctor of Medicine from the University of California at San Diego, La Jolla, CA. Dr. Flores is Board Certified in Family Medicine. Dr. Flores has worked at other medical facilities in the Las Cruces area; his combined total years of service at La Clinica de Familia is close to 18 years. Most recently he was honored with his appointment as Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of New Mexico, School of Medicine in Albuquerque.
Shailen Mhapsekar, MD
Shailen Mhapsekar, MD practices family medicine at our Anthony Clinic. He earned a degree in English and Biochemistry from the University of Toronto. He attended medical school at the University of Vermont College of Medicine, participated in an obstetrics internship at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center and finished his family medicine residency at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics. In between his internship and residency, he worked for a year at rural clinics in Honduras. While in Honduras he provided health care to an underserved population. During his time in Honduras he became enamored with the culture, language, and people. Upon completing residency, he worked at Mimbres Memorial Hospital located in Deming, New Mexico; where he was the medical director of the outpatient clinic. After a year and half, he fell in love and moved from Deming to El Paso. He loves everything about family medicine: pediatrics, obstetrics, geriatrics, diabetes management and sports medicine. He is an avid sports fan and a huge Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He enjoys spending time with his wife and their husky while exploring the beautiful outdoors!
Lydia Macklin, CNP
Lydia Macklin, CNP, cares for patients at our Anthony Medical Clinic. She is Board Certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners as a Family Nurse Practitioner. She received her Bachelor’s in Nursing from New Mexico State University and obtained her Masters in Nursing from University of Texas in El Paso. Not only does she serve the great people of southern New Mexico as a Certified Nurse Practitioner, she serves our nation as a member of the Army Reserves.
Cynthia Salazar, CNP
Cynthia Salazar, CNP, cares of the patients at our Anthony Medical Clinic. She is Board Certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She obtained her Bachelor’s in Nursing from the University of Texas Health Sciences Center in San Antonio and returned to El Paso where she completed her Masters of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas at El Paso. She is an active member at Saint Patrick’s Cathedral, where she also providers medical assistance for ACT Women’s Retreat and has volunteered at the Women’s Shelter Food Bank.
Jane Swanson, CNP
Jane Swanson, CNP currently cares for patients at our Anthony Medical clinic. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the University of Phoenix and obtained her Masters of Science in Nursing at New Mexico State University. As a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner, she returned to the classroom at the University of Texas, in El Paso to obtain her Doctor of Nursing Practice.
